Sofia Meneses holds a degree in Economics from the Nova School of Business and Economics, Lisbon (1995). She completed the Advanced Management Program for Executives (2011/2012) and, in 2014, attended an Executive Master in Leadership at the Catholic University of Lisbon. In recent years, she has attended various courses and workshops in project management, corporate finance, capital markets, customer management, client relationship management, treasury management, negotiation, and audit/compliance.

From 2018 to 2020, she served as a board member of EGEAC, where she was responsible for Finance, Human Resources, Organisational Development, Administration, Conservation and Maintenance, Procurement & IT.

Her career also includes being Financial Director at MUDE – Museum of Design and Fashion (2017-2018), and Corporate Finance Director at Logoplaste (2007-2017), where she managed the international finance department. Between 1994 to 2007, she worked as a Senior Relationship Manager at BNP Paribas, and from 1992 to 1994, she was a risk analyst at Banque Nationale de Paris. She also worked in audit at Arthur Andersen from 1990 to 1992.

She has been a member of OPART's Board of Directors since September 2022.
